Come experience a part of Cherokee County that you’ve probably never seen…explore the historic Sutallee Trace as part of the Sutallee Trail Challenge! This beautiful and rugged trail run takes you along scenic ridgelines, in lush creek valleys and along the banks of the Etowah River. Sutallee Trace is thought to have followed old Cherokee Indian pathways and was marked as a major area road of the Cherokee County Map of 1895.

Runners may choose between a challenging 10 mile course and a shorter 4 mile course. We will also offer a free half mile kids race for children 12 and under. Beginning and ending at Boling Park in Canton, GA, the venue is very family friendly so bring the kids!

A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Scout Troop 241 for their efforts in building and maintaining the Boling Park Etowah Trail System. Boy Scout Troop 241 continues to expand the trail to the west and used the donation from this event in 2011 to help purchase lumber to build new footbridges along the corridor.
