Race Course
Please pardon the construction in/near the parking lot! The Blankets Creek Parking Lot is being improved and expanded, but for right now it is a bit of a mess. Please bear with us and note that the trails are not being affected by construction and are in pristine condition.
Both courses will be mostly singletrack and will be one long loop. The terrain is rolling, with the largest hills being towards the end of the half marathon course, on the Van Michael Trail. For the half marathon, we will be utilizing most of the trails in the park.
Half Marathon Course
The run will begin on the wide half mile Hamilton Hop trail to allow runners a chance to space out before entering the singletrack. The course will then follow the Dwelling Trail CCW, up Schultz's Chute and then CCW on South Loop. The course then returns to Hamilton's Hop via a small access trail, and takes a left onto Mosquito Flats, then another left onto Mosquito Bite to the Van Michael Trail entrance. Runners will follow the Van Michael Trail CW back to the Mosquito Flats Trail and then take that a short distance to the finish. Approximately 0.75 miles of the Van Michael Trail will be omitted to keep the distance at 13.1 miles. Trust me, you'll thank us for that!
There will be a ginormous central aid station at the Hamilton Hop/Schultz's Chute/Dwelling Trail junction that you will pass three times and another aid station along the Van Michael Trail.

10k Course
The run will begin on the wide half mile Hamilton Hop trail to allow runners a chance to space out before entering the singletrack. The course will then follow the Dwelling Trail CCW, up Schultz's Chute and then back down an access trail to Hamilton Hop. The course continues on Hamilton Hop and then takes a left onto Mosquito Flats, then right onto the Mosquito Flats Extension. The course then turns back onto Mosquito Flats, then a very short section on Hamilton Hop to the finish. Course may be a short bit longer than 6.2 miles, but we want to make sure you get your money's worth!
This course will have one aid station that you will pass by three times at the Hamilton Hop/Schultz's Chute/Dwelling Trail junction, however most runners will likely only stop once.

If you are at the park to check out the trails, please remember that the trails are intended for bike use and that bikes have the right of way on ALL trails in the park AT ALL TIMES. Check trail signage for bike direction for the day and run OPPOSITE the direction of the bikes.
Since we are getting into fall, it is always a good idea to check the SORBA Woodstock website to ensure that the trails are open, as they are closed when it is raining to preserve the trails.
