My husband and I founded Mountain Goat Adventures in 2010 and strive to provide memorable, exciting events that promote an active lifestyle. As a racer myself, I know what aspects of racing events are the most frustrating when not handled properly, so I’ve made it my mission to put together events that offer a great experience, a well marked course, awesome swag, reasonable event pricing, as well as a high level of organization and efficiency at each event. All of our events feature chip timing and INSTANT real-time results. Upon finishing, you can check your finish time and category placing.

About the owner, Lisa Randall

Graduating with highest honors from Georgia Tech in 2000, I worked full time as a civil engineer while juggling a heavy training and racing schedule. I entered the professional mountain bike ranks in 2004 after just 2.5 years of racing. In 2006, I discovered a new addiction, Adventure Racing, and have competed in and won dozens of multisport races ranging from 3 hours to 5 days. Still competing in cycling events and adventure races, I have recently added trail running into the mix over the past three years. I have had the opportunity to complete the TransRockies Mountain Bike Stage Race and most recently have completed the Trans North Georgia Mountain Bike Race, a 350 mile non-stop MTB race across the mountains of North Georgia.

My passion for athletics, competition and the outdoors led to my voluntary resignation from the engineering profession and the creation of Mountain Goat Adventures. Following my vision to produce the types of events that I would personally like to compete in, Mountain Goat Adventures will bring racers to 10 exciting venues in 2013.

The creation of Mountain Goat Adventures has allowed me to share my passion with like minded people, as well as given me a chance to really give back to the organizations that provide some of the best trail systems in the Northwest Metro Atlanta area. Between myself, my family members, and some great volunteers, we have logged dozens of hours of trail maintenance in conjunction with our events. In 2012, we raised $15,000 in donations for SORBA Woodstock in conjunction with our events and have been able to support SORBA Atlanta, Run Cobb and local Boy Scout Troop 241. We are also sponsoring the Sorella Cycling Club and Race Team for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

Thanks for reading and we hope to see you at some of our events!

Proud Supporter of the 2012-2014 Sorella Cycling Club!

Why choose a Mountain Goat Adventures Event?

Race courses set by a racer. Over the past ten years I have competed in hundreds of events including mountain bike races, trail runs, adventure races, triathlons, duathlons, etc. I know what makes a great course and strive to set courses that will be enjoyable and memorable for all participants. I like to bring racers to new venues and trails that they may not be familiar with. At Mountain Goat Adventures, we want to provide you with the whole experience, rather than just a race venue.

Cool swag - let's face it, we all love race swag and I'm always on the lookout for neat, new items to help remember your race day experience.

We give back to the community in a huge way. Since 2008, nearly $50,000 has been donated to SORBA Woodstock through the Blankets Creek Dirty Duathlon and other races as well as skills clinics on behalf of the Chapter. We have also been able to donate funds to other trail groups such as Boy Scout Troop 241, SORBA Atlanta, Cherokee County Saddle Club and Run Cobb.

No transfer fees. We want to encourage you to sign up early, so we don't think it is fair to then charge you to transfer to another racer in the same event if you do it by the cutoff. We understand that injuries happen or sometimes you just didn't have time to train so we try to make the transfer process as hassle free as possible.

Wicking Tech T's. All of our events feature wicking technical T shirts, as opposed to the basic cotton T. Tech T's are the new standard in race T-shirts and work better for active pursuits such as running and riding. We're always working to provide you some very cool shirt designs, as well as logo socks and visors.

Shirts for all - We understand that many will not step onto the podium, and that your race shirt is the next best badge of honor. We are doing our best (keeping a large supply on hand, printing locally, and keeping a reserve of logo shirts for day-of registrants) to ensure that everyone that signs up for one of our events receives a t-shirt of some kind.

Free kids races at all of our running events because I believe it is important to promote an active lifestyle to our kids. All kids race finishers receive a hand crafted finisher medal.

Registration options. Rather than forcing everyone to register online, we still offer mail-in registration for those that aren't interested in using a credit card to register. For those that prefer the instant gratification of online registration, we developed our own system, rather than using the usual online registration sites, to keep the credit card fees as low as possible for our racers.
